Traffic Impacts and Detours for Pattullo Bridge Project

Feb 18, 2025

patullo bridge replacement project logo

As construction on the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project progresses, ongoing road closures and traffic disruptions continue to impact key routes. Fraser Crossing Partners is currently installing girders for the new Old Yale Road westbound overpass and the direct Highway 17 off-ramp. Additionally, overhang decks for multi-use pathways on the new bridge are being installed over Highway 17.

Ongoing traffic impacts include:

  • Additional weekly and weekend closures of Bridge Road as installation progresses. Drivers will be detoured via 130 Street to access Industrial Road and Musqueam Drive.
  • Nighttime closures of Old Yale Road northbound across Highway 17 will continue. Old Yale Road southbound across Highway 17 remains restricted 24/7. Local traffic access on either side of Highway 17 will be maintained.
  • Overnight directional closures of Highway 17 westbound and eastbound will continue for girder and overhang deck installation.
  • Highway 17 westbound traffic will be rerouted via Bridgeview Drive to King George Boulevard, 120 Street, and Tannery Road.
  • Highway 17 eastbound traffic will be detoured via Tannery Road, 120 Street, King George Boulevard, and back onto Highway 17 via Bridgeview Drive.

Work is expected to continue for six weeks, with construction taking place 24 hours per day. Periodic full closures of Bridge Road, nighttime closures of Old Yale Road, and overnight closures of Highway 17 will be required.

BCTA members are encouraged to plan ahead and monitor updates for changes to traffic conditions.
