The B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Transit will be implementing temporary closures on Highway 1 at the Tank Hill site, located 14 kilometers east of Lytton, BC, to accommodate the movement of heavy equipment and the placement of girders on the new structure over the CPKC Railway. These closures are part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving road safety and efficiency in the region.

A four-hour overnight closure will take place on Friday, March 21, from 12:00 AM to 4:00 AM (PST) to facilitate the crane move. Additionally, three daytime closures will occur from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM (PST) on March 24, 25, and 26, during the placement of girders on the new structure.

During these closures, there will be hard closures at the intersections of Highway 1 & 12 and Highway 1 & 8. Local traffic will still have access to the Gladwin Area and Nicomen River Road. All other traffic will be detoured via Highway 12 and Highway 5, with portable message boards and dynamic message signs in Lillooet and Ashcraft providing guidance.

Motorists traveling between the Interior and the Lower Mainland are encouraged to use alternative routes such as Highway 3 or Highway 5 to avoid delays. Emergency vehicles will be granted access throughout the closures to ensure continued emergency response capabilities.
